The "new" Ellie...

Joshua was too busy today to do our Teenage Talk...it's baseball season, plus the football coach sees something in him, so he's been weight lifting 4 days a week, as well. So crazy..the boy has never played structured football, so it makes me nervous and I hate the thought of it, but they see something in him. Probably his speed. Either way, he asked me to scoot it back a day. Who knows if we'll even have time tomorrow. Did I mention we are leaving for Disney and I still have SO much to do? GAHHH! I'm always like this before we go away though, so I'm kind of used to it. It will all get done. Deeeeeep breaths.

Real quick. I forgot to post about Easter and definitely want to share a few photos before that is in the waaaayy past and Disney is our focus. We had a wonderful day, as usual. The Easter Bunny left a "jellybean" trail for the littles...really it was those Annie's bunny snacks, I just feel better when they eat something like that. There was way too much for the Easter baskets, as always. Poor Joshua just got candy because the game he wanted hasn't come out yet.haha. The egg hunt was fun...even if Madeline didn't really show any urgency to find any eggs. She did, however, play with the big girls (her cousins and the neighbors) the entire day...every time I would come outside, she would politely (most of the time) ask me to go back in. She is getting to be such a big girl. Joseph was our happy guy, as always...just crawling around, doing his thing. Joshua packed his own clothes and kind of looked like a hobo on Easter....that's the last time I trust his packing judgement!

And...the ending...we changed "Ellies".haha. I should have went with my gut feeling from the beginning, but I went with the chocolate labradoodle because that's what I was originally searching for. Well, tonight, as I was showing Anthony the pictures and I showed him the other puppette I ended up choosing between, he said, "why didn't you choose her?"...and I knew it!!! Her face just melts our hearts. So, I contacted Michele and she finally spilled the beans that she thought this puppy would have been a better fit anyway...I kept asking for her opinion and advice, she kept saying she couldn't advise and any pup we picked would be perfect. I even emailed her after our choice, saying I had doubts....then tonight, she was happy our minds had changed. This "Ellie" feels right....I had to convince myself of the other....THIS is our girl right here...

 The "new" Ellie....haha....

NOW OFF TO BE UP UNTIL SUNRISE CLEANING, PACKING, PREPARING.....................

my own little personal revelation tonight

So, we were at Buffalo Wild Wings earlier and they actually hand your kid a tablet to play games during dinner...and even asked if we wanted one for the baby.
She decided to wear her pirate outfit out tonight. ARG!

I don't know how I feel about that. You already look around and see adults on their phone...so, the kids equally have their face buried in a device. Don't get me wrong, I am not against bringing something that occupies your child or giving them your phone to watch something if the service seems extra slow that day..hell, sometimes it's better than the alternative for you and everyone around. But, it just seems as though that important family, social, public interaction is being taken away. Like they are not fully taking in the environment and activity around them...all important in life and social skills. At least let them get to that point of boredom where you have to find something to entertain them. I'm definitely not judging, just curious as to what the next generation is going to be like with more technical interaction than social and all the instant gratification. Again, this was just my own little personal revelation tonight...I am not saying anything is right or wrong.
I'll admit, my eyes look at my phone a little too much at times. It's actually horrible how one can become so attached to a device, that constant need to hit the 'home' button and scan over the text, email, messenger, facebook, twitter notifications...it's like an addiction. I'm definitely going to work on that. I wonder what moments I am missing over a silly notification.
Hell, once we get back from Disney with a puppy, I doubt I'll even have time to breathe anyway.HAHA!

On another note, my phone WILL be in my hand every Target trip from now on....hellllllo, have you tried the Cartwheel app? Holy savings!!!

Teenage Talk Thursday

Teenage Talk Thursday...I had another video, but then I saw a friend inquiring about the word "Gucci" and I had to change direction after that.haha.
Oh, and don't think I don't know it's Friday...I do, I'm just slow sometimes.

Toddler Talk Tuesdays

Our kids are talkers. They talk all the time. The teen only talks constantly at home and school, though...so, don't be surprised if you see him at some gathering and he doesn't say two words...that's just him, he's always been that way and people are surprised when I say he doesn't stop talking.
Madeline will talk your ear off, like really, sometimes you find yourself zoning out while she's talking and drift far away, only to come back and realize you have agreed to something and then it's, "Oh, what?, no, sweetie, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you"...she will then talk louder to prevent this from happening in the future.
Joseph is tossing out words left and right...he's already got the speaking loud enough so Mommy can hear him over Madeline and shouts "ALL DONE!!!!" instead of saying it normally. So, not only is it a talkative household, it is also a loud one.

So, here's our first Toddler Talk Tuesday...I'll alternate between the two littles on this one.
I decided to catch Madeline bright and early this morning while she was enjoying breakfast...speaking of loud, notice the banging of pans in the background, Joseph had already enjoyed his breakfast and decided to provide music after. THIS is our home ALL the time.haha!

We're just CRAZY like that

Two weeks and then we will be in Disney! SO exciting! Madeline is going to be amazed by the magic of Walt Disney World and I am going to soak in every second of her amazement. It will be fun, but I'm sure we're in for a crazy time with 2 littles...we will have Memom and Joshua to help at times though.
Things are always hectic in our house.
I haven't forgotten about the Toddler Talk Tuesdays & Teenage Talk Thursdays...there were quite a few phrases submitted, so we'll definitely be on that this week.
Things are SO hectic we thought, why not add a puppy? We're just CRAZY like that. Oh and when are picking up our puppy? On our way home from Disney!! HAHA. Went on a nice little road trip with Me-mom and Madeline on Saturday...should have been a 4.5 hour drive to Va, but the traffic was so horrible that it ended up taking 7 hours to get there. Madeline was amazing in the car...until we got there, of course. But, she still ended up picking her puppy, even after flipping out over the very large, non stinging bees.
So, here she is....this is little "Ellie" (Elsa, of course), our Labradoodle pup...
I have been researching Labradoodles for over a year and I'm pretty sure she will be an amazing fit for our family. I LOVE labs, but Joshua is allergic, so mixing in the standard poodle eliminates the dander and shedding. Plus, sweet, lovable lab plus intelligent poodle...cannot wait to train this girl!

At 4 weeks..

At 5 weeks..

Madeline choosing her...

What a beautiful Spring day. Madeline was running around outside with no shoes on and we were able to get in a photo shoot for Joseph's birthday invitation. Love this weather.

Teenage Talk Thursdays

While talking to a friend the other day, I mentioned that Joshua is always carrying around his iPad and oovo'ing with his friends. Her response? What in the heck is oovo'ing? That's when I realized I'm pretty damn hip compared to most people my age with young kids. I don't have to look things up on Urban Dictionary....nope, I have a teenage dictionary. Joshua is always giving me the down low on the vocab...he usually smirks the whole time, obviously because he knows something that I don't.

Anyway, some of you are still joking about his "business" that he had to give up co-ownership off ((which kills him because the other guy is still cleaning up)) and the boy loves to talk and be on camera, so I figured he could school you all. Teenage Talk Thursdays. We will focus on one word each Thursday and I'll try my best to keep him on track.haha. Be prepared....if you don't want to know the words kids are using these days, just steer clear of this one. But, I think it's only appropriate that we start with the word oovo'ing.

I'm also going to invite you to ask Josh a word, saying, phrase, object, you may have heard, by either messaging me through facebook or here...he's pretty excited about that part. HAHA! It will remain anonymous.

Stay tuned, there will be Toddler Talk Tuesdays, as well..because that's just damn cute.
