Weekend at the Orchards

It has been an apple pickin', baby wearin', punkin choosin', train choo choo'n, toddler chasin', face paintin', tractor ridin', havin' fall fun kinda weekend.

We decided to go to Highland Orchards on Saturday for some fall apple picking. We had so much fun, riding out to the orchards on the shuttle, walking around in the trees, trying every kind of apple right of the tree until our bellies were full....

Madeline loved that we could eat as we picked.

Anthony said he had eaten more apples in that hour than in 20 years.haha.

Madeline tried two different varieties at once.

Cheesing with Mommy

Sometimes they were a little hard to get off the trees.

She loved picking our apples.

She was sure to get her face painted....that's her favorite.

Then we went on a super bumpy hayride.....

You would have thought Joseph did a ton of work because he was beat!

So, today we woke up and decided since we had so much fun at Highland Orchards, we may as well hit Linvilla Orchards....not for apples because we have about 20 lbs of them at this point, but pumpkins instead.
It was super crowded because of a festival, but we still had fun.
Pop Tony joined us at Linvilla

THIS guy is ready!

Time for the train!!

PUNKINS!!!!

Madeline's all time favorite thing is to get her face painted.......

TWO times in one weekend equals face painting bliss for Madeline.

So, there you have it.... our action packed weekend.haha.

I'm not too pressed

Trying to recover from our completely failed potty training attempt today. It was pretty terrible. I did something I've never done, read a parenting book to try to give myself a new perspective, and it failed miserably.
We gave the diapers to Daddy's trash trucks and they were gone. Completely. Not really, but she didn't know that. She was pants-less and great for the first few hours because she didn't have to "go". Well, once the feeling came over her, she started asking for a diaper. Then we sat on the potty a few times. Nothing. 5 1/2 hours went by and she was to the point that she was so uncomfortable that she couldn't sit or stand still (she was actually running around to avoid messing herself), she was constantly holding herself and asked if I would throw her away to the trash truck so she could be with her diapers. The last part killed me. She also got to the point where she would start crying when I put her on the potty. I wasn't going to give in, but I thought to myself, if it came to the point where she lost control and it just came out, it would completely break her spirit...and I can't be having that. So, we'll try again in a few weeks. I may change the approach, I may not..I'll think about it. I know SO many different styles and tactics, so we will see. I'm not too pressed...it will happen.

Anyway, super fun weekend visiting my Pop-pop in Delaware and going to the Francis Scott Key resort down Ocean City. We even hit the boardwalk rides, which I was SO excited for since they are the same rides Joshua went on, I went on...hell, even my Dad went on! ha! It is so awesome to go somewhere you grew up going and haven't been there for a while only for it to be EXACTLY how it has always been. Such a fun, comfortable, nostalgic feeling.

Pictures anyone?
