MINE

The word "MINE" makes me cringe, especially being said in an overly possessive way by a toddler. Which brings me to the question, where in the hell do they learn it from??? Is it some natural toddler instinct to jump right into this possessive phase where they feel the need to tell everyone and everything that "This is MINE!!!" or "That's MY car/doll/whatever!!!". I will hand the child a yogurt and she will look at me, right after I hand it over, and sternly say "THAT'S MY YOGURT!!". Erm, really? Because 2 seconds ago, it was MY yogurt, kid, and you know what? I didn't want it anyway!!  Is what I want to say. But, I usually over analyze and start explaining that no one is going to take it away and that it is hers, but she needs to be nice about it....and then, when she's looking at me and about to repeat that fact that it is hers, I remember she's 2. Yeah, so where in the hell did this come from? I certainly don't walk around declaring everything I pick up is MINE.  Anthony doesn't snatch her toys and say, "THAT'S MY CAR!". And Joshua, as much of a pain as he can be at 13, has no need to be possessive over anything she has. So um, yeah, this must just be some crazy toddler thing that they are programmed with and it kicks in around this age. It's exhausting to see such a sweet girl like her constantly feeling the need to claim everything that she touches. It will pass...I hope!
Ah yes, here she is letting the birds know, "THAT'S MY SLIDE!!!".....

If this video had smell o vision, you would know why her diaper is so big in the back. Yep, and she refuses to admit she needs a diaper change. Fun stuff. Although, equally annoying when people ask if she's potty training and offer advice. She's a super smart kid, if she were ready, I would definitely know. I'm not about to push her into something she is not ready for...it will only make the process longer. If she is ready soon, fine. If not, fine. Her world is about to turn upside down in a couple months, should I really add more stress onto that? No worries, I've got it covered. *wink*
Disclaimer: she was changed right after the filming of this video

Pinterest "projects" 2 & 3.. done.

This morning, I made "Easy, Yummy, Two-ingredient Pancakes". Banana & egg make up the pancakes, seasoned with cinnamon and I added vanilla. Ehhh, if we weren't eating carbs, I'd make them again...otherwise, I didn't care for the consistency.

Madeline tolerated the texture....
Mmmm...pancake!

Hey, you tricked me!

Eh, but I like it anyway!

And we also did the infamous, Baking soda and vinegar painting! Now THAT was fun!!! We didn't have a medicine dropper because we used them for Joshua's last science project, so we used one of those squeeze bulbs to flush out an ear with water...NOT a boogie sucker..I repeat, she is NOT playing with a boogie sucker.

It looked pretty gross once she was finished, but she definitely had a blast!
