Of course my husband had to remind
me that Madeline is OUR daughter, after the MY daughter post yesterday. Well,
of course she is, I have no problem sharing this stubborn two year old!
I'm currently eating animal
crackers...not so bad, right?..and dipping them in a can/jar of frosting. So
gross. I've just been yearning for something sweet all day. I don't normally
buy anything sweet, we actually never had sweet things, cookies, cakes, etc in
my house growing up. Unless it was leftover from a party or birthday, but
things like that were always reserved for special occasions or just a special
treat. So, I very rarely buy them...unless my husband asks. When he goes to the
store, it's a totally different story...you would think there is going to be
some sort of Oreo or Little Debbie shortage. He has to hide them on
the top shelf, so he doesn't corrupt the kids.
It's one of those days...an animal
cracker and canned frosting type of day. Having a teenager is so tough...it
often makes me wonder what in the hell we were thinking, starting this all over
again. That's why people have kids back to back...they see those cute, little
faces and just keep creating. Makes you think...those of us that do it this
way, are we just CRAZY??! Ha, must be. I just wish I could just
flash forward a few years and see if we are making the right parental
decisions. One can only
hope.
I'm a pretty tough Mom. I do have
high expectations, but only because I believe in my children and know they can
attain those goals and standards that I set. But, I'm also forgiving, I never
hold a grudge against any poor decisions or failure. I may yell, but I always
end with a hug and "I love you". If you were to ask my adult children
to describe me, I'd hope they would say, "She was damn tough, but she
loved just as hard". One
can only hope.
Well, there needs to be some
cuteness to brighten up this post. And what's cuter than a toddler feeding her
play-doh animals, play-doh food? Pssh. Nothing.
Love this one! I am just seeing it! We just do our best and hope the upbringing will make them turn into awesome BIG people! You are doing a great job! Cannot wait for the babies to be! Susan
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan! It's definitely going to be an exciting couple of months.
