The importance of a great Coach [not the bag]

I have been with Sprint for 11 years, you know, when the phones first looked like this
and text messaging was no where near what it is today.Well, I finally broke down and decided to become part of the Spirito family plan (haha).... which is everyone, plus a few random people I don't even think they remember are on there. It will save us about $100/month, so good deal. Plus, I got a cool new phone! Happy Mother's Day to me from Pop Tony, he is AWESOME!

I had a nice day yesterday, except the traffic that I hit on the Expressway due to an over turned vehicle. Pop Tony wanted me to come get my phone, so we made a day of it....lunch and all! He really enjoyed being with Madeline and we enjoyed him too.

Josh has been playing ball since he was 4, so I have seen a lot of Coaches. Some great, some good and some you wonder why they are even coaching. He is one of those kids that needs a great Coach to thrive. He needs that feeling that someone believes in him. I saw that clearly when he made the All Star team last year and the Coach[es] didn't know him, didn't play him, and when he did for his 1 inning of fame, he was the suck because he knew there was absolutely no faith in him. ((side note: that Coach[es] is/are good one[s], just not familiar with Josh, I guess...things are A LOT different now)). One thing that really did make me question why we didn't pick up and leave during that All Star time was when my Grandparents and Uncle were in town. It was every bit of 98 degrees outside, the pitcher they had in just did not have it that day (it happens) and all they had to do was give Josh a chance....THAT was the main reason he made the All Star team, for his pitching! Instead, we sat out in the smoldering heat to watch him play one inning in right flippin field.good times. I felt like an idiot for even being there, honestly. But, that's the past...trust me, there are no hard feelings whatsoever.
But, on to the good stuff..... last night, because of 4 AWESOME coaches [including my husband], Josh hit a [over the fence]
GRAND SLAM!!!!

That had to be the most amazing moment ever. I'm glad I had my sunglasses on because there were tears behind them! And any mother knows [especially being a single one that was the only one at all these games until recently] what a proud moment that must be!
So, thank you, Anthony, Andy, Dustin and Mike. You guys are awesome and the reason our team ROCKS is because YOU believe they can. That, my friends, is all it takes. And we may not win every time, but those boys feel like winners all of the time.

  1. This gave me chills! I can't wait to experience this feeling of pride when I see my daughter thriving! I know I'll be that mother jumping up and down going "that's MY daughter!!! I grew her in my belly!!!" Hehe! Thanks for making me smile today and congrats to Josh!
