Welcoming Madeline into the World

In honor of Mother's Day, I'd like to share January 27th with you. I had a scheduled C-section I wasn't too happy about, but it needed to be done. They estimated she was already 8 lbs at 39 weeks and I certainly didn't want to go past due! I had an emergency section with Josh, so they were not able to induce me. It's no fun laying on a table, awake and numb, as they take your baby out, but sometimes it just has to be done.
We had 20 inches of snow on the ground that morning. Anthony went in to wake up Josh and he was nowhere to be found. We looked outside and he was already up and out there shoveling...what a proud Mommy moment!
We picked up Me-mom and Mom from the hotel and then made a dangerous car ride to the hospital.
The C-section went so smooth, thanks to my wonderful Dr and anesthesiologist. I could not have asked for a better experience.
My husband very tastefully caught Madeline's first seconds into the world on video. We actually have MANY hours of video before and after her birth from the hospital, but this one makes my heart melt every time. Some people may think I'm yelling, but any mother will recognize the tone in my voice as I hear my baby crying.
